Public Meeting - Proposed Mosquito Control Assessment

The Compton Creek Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees will hold a public meeting on June 17, 2024, to discuss a proposed assessment for mosquito surveillance and control. This assessment aims to fund essential mosquito control measures to protect public health within the District’s jurisdiction, which includes the City of Compton, North Long Beach, and adjacent unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County.

Meeting Details:

  • Date: Friday, June 17, 2024
  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Location: Compton Unified School District, Superintendent’s Conference Room 501 S. Sante Fe Ave., Compton, CA 90220

The proposed Benefit Assessment will be levied on all non-exempt parcels to cover the costs of mosquito inspection, protection, and control projects. The funds collected will be exclusively used for vector control within the District. The assessment will be collected alongside County property taxes and subject to the same penalties and procedures.

Government or public utility-owned land will be exempt from this charge.
